Start with grade, not price
Every SilkwayOud bracelet comes from Maoming Aquilaria sinensis in one of two grades, and the grade — not the bead size — is what determines how the bracelet will actually smell and age.
- Grade A — a warm, woody character that builds gradually as body heat works into the resin. This is the right starting grade if you have never owned agarwood before, or if you're buying for someone who hasn't either.
- Grade S — denser resin, a deeper and more complex scent, and a faster warm-up against skin. Choose this once you already know what agarwood smells like and want more of it.

Get the size right: measuring your wrist
A single-wrap bracelet needs to sit close enough to the skin that body heat reaches the beads, but loose enough to turn freely. Two minutes with a tape measure or a strip of paper avoids the two most common sizing mistakes.
- Wrap a soft tape measure (or a strip of paper, then measure the paper) snugly around your wrist, just below the wrist bone.
- Add 1 to 1.5 cm to that measurement for a comfortable single-wrap fit that still allows some drape. Add less if you prefer a snug fit that maximizes skin contact and scent transfer.
- If you are between sizes, size up. A bracelet that is slightly loose still performs; one that is too tight will crack under bead pressure over time.

The scent should be subtle at rest and grow noticeably warmer and more complex when you cup the beads in your palm for thirty seconds. Caring for your bracelet

- Store in a fabric pouch away from direct sunlight and heat when not worn.
- Expect the scent to deepen over the first few weeks of wear as the resin warms with regular contact, then settle into a personal, long-term character.
