Incense & Chips

Agarwood chips — also called oud chips or bakhoor — are the most traditional way to enjoy oud. Warmed on an electric burner or over charcoal, resin-rich Maoming agarwood releases a deep, slowly evolving aroma with no open flame. This collection brings together our Grade A and Grade S heating chips alongside Hainan oud incense sticks, all from Aquilaria sinensis grown in Maoming, China, with documented CITES-compliant sourcing.

Agarwood & Oud Chips — FAQ

What are agarwood chips?
Agarwood chips are pieces of resin-saturated oud heartwood. Heated gently, they release fragrance without burning, which is why collectors prefer them over scented incense.
How do you burn oud chips?
Place one small chip on a low electric burner or over ashed-over charcoal in a mabkhara. Keep the heat low so the resin vaporizes instead of scorching.
What is the difference between oud chips and bakhoor?
Oud chips are the raw resinous wood. Bakhoor usually means chips that have been scented or blended before burning. Both are used the same way.
